Tenancy In Common is a legal term that describes the way two (or more) individuals can own real estate together. The key is the lack of survivorship (as with Joint Tenancy), as a co-owner's death would pass ownership rights to their specific beneficiaries of his/her choosing instead of to the other owners, as required with joint tenants.
